CAP and Nature club
To inculcate the habit of working for the betterment of nature, help students understand their social responsibility and cultivating their ability to work in a team.
WE are the CHARACTER and PERSONALITY and NATURE CLUB.
The club educates students on the vast admirable elegance of nature and emphasizes the steps to be taken for nature conservation, by organizing talks and lectures. Along with this a variety of events are conducted throughout the year to help our students gain social responsibility through character and personality development. We conduct nature treks that give the students a chance to feel the love of Mother Nature, and develop their team working skills through team building events.
1. GUEST LECTURE:-HARMONY AND CONFLICTS: A FOREST MURAL.
Conducted on 11th August 2016 our curtain raiser was a talk on the harmony and conflicts on flora and fauna of our country. The talk was handled by our guest speaker Dr. B.NAGARAJAN, a scientist from IFGTB, Coimbatore.
2. THE INTRAMZ 2K16:
INTRAMZ was a complete delight of fun filled games, along with the war of Mini Militia. The events were held for two days in which more than 120 teams participated.
3. NATURE WEEK:
We the CAP and Nature club celebrated the NATURE WEEK from the 4th October to10th October 2016. This week had a plethora of events ranging from fun games to seminars that contributed to the development of knowledge on nature and its gift to humanity.
There was a talk on E WASTE MANAGEMENT AND RECYCLING following the nature events; the seminar was handled by Mr. SIVANESHWARAN from E-recycling solutions.
4. TREK TO PARSON’S VALLEY ECO RETREAT, OOTY.
Our first trek for this year was to the restricted hillside on the parson’s valley, TIGER RE-SERVE held on Nov 20th, 2017. The trek was a combination of thrill of the trek path and the fascination of the mountains subsidized by the grazing of the transparent water streaks and the breathtaking scenery.
5. LENS O NAT:
The students show cased their nature photography skills which were displayed at the Youth Alumni meet that was conducted by the alumni congress of PSG Tech.
6. QUINOAH 2017:
TOGETHER WE CAN
The nature exhibition of PSG tech carried the glory of our club to greater heights. It housed an array of gleaming nature photographs and a display of products. The NO FOOD WAST-AGE CAMPAIGN organized during the exhibition was a great success, in raising awareness about food wastage. We had OSAI Environmental organization and Siruthuli organization raise awareness on rain water harvesting and nature conservation.
We had a number of other events like HACK THE KNACK, CRYPTIC TRACE and so on.
7. PCD COURSE:
As part of the PCD course for the first year students a number of workshops and events were conducted that helped the freshers gain knowledge and show their skills to the outer world. A trek to the Nilgiri Bioshpere reserve was organized along with workshops like
• Trash to cash
• Time management
• Nursery making and so on.
